Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Our first dog was a Chesapeake Bay Retriever my parents named Sadie. She was friendly to us but we eventually had to give her back to the breeder because she was not so friendly to strangers. Not long after losing Sadie, fate brought us a new dog that we would have for more than 14 years. It happened while on vacation in La Crosse Wisconsin fishing on the Mississippi River. As we pulled in to the spot, a beautiful Black Lab puppy jumped on our car over and over. He hung around and played with us for hours. It became clear that he was abandon so we took him home and the rest was history. Pets are our family members which is why it’s so important for many of us to bring them along on vacations.
