Timpoochee Trail

The Timpoochee Trail stretches nearly 19 miles alongside Scenic Highway 30A, connecting some of the area's most iconic beach communities. Whether you're riding a bike, going for a morning run or taking a leisurely walk, it's one of our favorite ways to slow down and experience 30A beyond the beach.

What to Expect on The Timpoochee Trail

The paved trail is wide, mostly flat and easy to navigate, making it a great option for riders and walkers of all ages. Along the way you'll pass through communities like Dune Allen Beach, Blue Mountain Beach, Grayton Beach, WaterColor, Seaside, Seagrove Beach, Alys Beach and Rosemary Beach, with coastal dune lakes, state parks and beautiful beach neighborhoods around nearly every turn.

The trail follows Scenic Highway 30A for most of its route, with clearly marked crossings where needed. You'll find plenty of places to stop for coffee, lunch, shopping or a quick walk to the beach before continuing your ride.

Good to Know Before You Explore

Bikes and e-bikes are available to rent from several outfitters along 30A if you don't have your own. You don't have to tackle all 19 miles in one trip. Pick a section that interests you most or spend the day hopping between beach communities at your own pace. While the trail is well maintained, occasional maintenance or construction may require brief detours.

Insider Tips

  • Start early if you can. The mornings are cooler, the trail is quieter and it's one of our favorite times to enjoy the scenery before the day heats up.
  • You don't have to tackle the whole trail. Pick a stretch between a few beach communities and enjoy the shops, restaurants and beaches along the way.
  • Rent an e-bike if you want to cover more ground. It's a fun way to see more of 30A without wearing yourself out.
  • Bring water, sunscreen and comfortable shoes. Whether you're walking, running or biking, you'll be glad you packed the essentials on warmer days.
  • Stay alert at trail crossings. They're clearly marked, but it's always a good idea to slow down, look both ways and make eye contact with drivers before crossing Scenic Highway 30A.
