Looking for a change of pace during your 30A vacation? Just a few minutes north of Scenic Highway 30A in Santa Rosa Beach, Eden Gardens State Park offers a peaceful escape filled with history, natural beauty and Southern charm. Home to the historic Wesley House, towering live oaks draped in Spanish moss and beautifully landscaped gardens, it's one of our favorite spots to slow down and experience a different side of the Emerald Coast.
What to expect during your visit to Eden Gardens
The centerpiece of the park is the historic Wesley House, a beautifully restored mansion dating back to 1897. Guided tours take visitors through the home, where you'll find elegant architecture, period furnishings and an impressive collection of Louis XVI antiques.
Beyond the mansion, shaded walking paths wind beneath centuries-old live oaks and through colorful gardens overlooking Tucker Bayou. Keep an eye out for herons, egrets, turtles and other local wildlife as you explore. It's also one of our favorite places near 30A for family photos, engagement sessions and maternity portraits thanks to its timeless scenery and beautiful natural backdrop.
Even if you don't take a house tour, the grounds are worth visiting on their own. Stroll beneath the moss-covered oaks, enjoy a picnic under the trees or launch a kayak or canoe to explore the peaceful waters of Tucker Bayou. Whether you're visiting as a couple, with family or simply looking for a relaxing afternoon outdoors, Eden Gardens State Park is one of the most peaceful places to visit near 30A.
Good to know before you visit the park
A small daily entrance fee is required to enter the park, while guided tours of the Wesley House are available for an additional fee. We recommend checking the Florida State Parks website before your visit for the latest tour schedule and admission pricing.
Spring is especially beautiful when the azaleas are in bloom, but the canopy of live oaks provides plenty of shade throughout the year. Before you leave, stop by the gift shop for locally inspired gifts and souvenirs.
