Explore Gulf Place and Dune Allen Beach, Florida with 30A Local Guide, Ryan Taylor

In this weeks episode, we explore the Gulf Place and Dune Allen Beach area of South Walton County. Gulf Place and Dune Allen are located on the western end of the 30A corridor.  Gulf Place is comprised of a unique Town Square experience right off the white sand beach at the intersection of South County Highway 393 and West County Highway 30A! This buzzing community has something for the whole family.  You might enjoy a warm cup of joe at Sunrise Coffee Co, delicious ice cream and treats at Pecan Jacks, or a cold beer at Growler Garage 30A.  The Gulf Place and Dune Allen Beach area are also loaded with fun boutiques and tasty food spots so you’ll never go hungry.

Gulf Place and Dune Allen Offer Some of the Best Public Beach Accesses on 30A!

Gulf Place and Dune Allen Beach are home to (in my opinion) some of the best public and private beach access points on 30A.  The Ed Walline Regional Beach Access is located right across the street from Gulf Place Town Center and is fantastic.  A few things that makes this access so unique are that it has a beautiful wheel chair accessible ramp, spacious public restrooms, and a large parking lot.  People often spend a few hours shopping and dining at Gulf Place, then walk across the street to enjoy the beach via Ed Walline access.  There are also several other beach accesses in this area that offer handicap accessible ramps and restrooms.  Right down the street (Just west of Gulf Place) you’ll find the Fort Panic Dune Allen access, and just a few hundred yards from there is the Dune Allen Regional Access. They are also a great option if you are visiting with children as they offer clean facilities to rinse off sand.

The western end of the 30A corridor features some of South Walton’s best restaurants. Shunk Gulley Oyster Bar is located right next to Gulf Place Town Center and overlooks the Ed Walline beach access!  They have a great menu and the atmosphere is awesome. Goat Feathers is located just east of Gulf Place and Stinky’s Fish Camp is just a few minutes west. Both of those establishments are known for putting their unique spin on local favorites.  If you’re looking to dine directly on the Gulf Of Mexico, you’ll want to make a reservation at “Vue On 30A”.  It’s a great spot and one of the areas best golf courses “Santa Rosa Golf & Beach Club” is right across the street.
