Souvenir shopping usually means junk you toss in a drawer. We send our guests to The SEASIDE Style instead, because a soft embroidered sweatshirt with the Seaside post office on it is the kind of thing you'll actually wear back home all winter.
What to expect when you shop the Seaside collection
This is the official lifestyle brand for the town of Seaside, so almost everything carries some version of the town's script logo, townscape or local landmarks. Racks are stocked with short and long sleeve tees, corded crewnecks, mock necks and hats for men, women and kids.
We like that the palette stays simple and coastal, so it doesn't scream tourist shop. Expect around $45 for a hat, $69 and up for a sweatshirt and closer to $179 for the heavier Ellsworth & Ivey sweaters. There's also enewton jewelry if you want to build a bracelet stack while you're here.
Beyond the T-shirts: home goods and collabs
The side of the store we always point families toward is the home and gift section. Weezie beach towels and robes, ChappyWrap blankets, the Seaside Townscape mug, drinkware and the little post office ornament that shows up on a lot of Christmas trees around here.
There's also a book on the story of the T-shirt that helped build the town, which is a fun read if you're curious how Seaside came together.
Good to know before you visit
The Central Square shop is the main one, but there are sister stores scattered around Seaside, so a color or size that's sold out here may be hanging a few steps away. Park once in the Seaside lots or bike in on the Timpoochee Trail, then knock out shopping, the Airstream food trucks and an amphitheater stroll in one trip.
Insider Tips
- We'd size up on the sweatshirts. A few of the darker colors shrink, so wash cold and air dry to be safe.
- Ask about the other Seaside Style shops around town. We've found sizes and colors at one that were sold out at another.
- Our favorite low-cost pick is the post office ornament or the Seaside Townscape mug. Small, packable and much better than a magnet.
- Go mid-morning right at open if you want room to browse. By late afternoon in summer the square gets busy fast.
- Matching family tees or sweatshirts sound cheesy until you see the beach photos. We think they're worth it, and the kids' sizing runs true.
- Pair the stop with the Airstream food trucks just outside. Grab lunch, then shop while the crowd thins out.
